At the end of October, Donald Trump told the world that he had a huge secret about our President, which turned out to be a $5 Million bribe. Trump told the world and our POTUS via YouTube that if Obama showed Trump his college transcript and passport records, he would donate $5 Million to the charity of Obama’s choice.
Obviously nothing came of this wager, except for a lot of jokes, i.e. every late night host.
In particular, Bill Maher appeared on Leno shortly after Trump’s announcement and said that he would donate $5 Million if Trump could prove that he wasn’t the spawn of an orangutan.
Stephen Colbert bet something similar, but for a little less money – he said he would donate $1 Million of Trump let him dip his balls in Trump’s mouth. Nothing came of this bet either.
But in response to Maher’s proposition, Trump claims that he actually sent his birth certificate to to Maher to prove that his mother and an orangutan did not mate and conceive him and now he wants Bill to pay up the money he promised because, so far, many deserving charIties are missing out on the money he promised.
That’s right – Donald Trump wants Bill Maher to pay up $5 Million for a bet that was CLEARLY A JOKE!
And in order to make Bill pay up, Trump filed a lawsuit in L.A. and he’s very confident he’ll win.
Now you have to ask – why the hell is Trump doing this because the consequences are pretty great: being the butt of Bill Maher’s disdain and hatred indefinitely, being the center of another round of late night comic’s monologues, looking like a complete jackass and looking like a publicity whore… again.
Trump says that he’s not doing this for the money or for the publicity but is actually doing it because he’s offended by Maher’s initial remark. He told TMZ,
What he said about my father is disgraceful … and what he said about my mother, who’s deceased, was in a certain way, even more disgraceful.
I’ve never heard anything like that said about my parents … who were truly great people.
Wonder if he’ll take an apology in lieu of the $5 Million. I doubt HBO pays that well.
Although rather vague, I believe this is what Bill had to say about the lawsuit:
