Trailer for Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi” is a Visual Masterpiece

I loved this book, so I’m really hoping they don’t fuck up the movie too much.  I don’t expect it to be on the same level as the novel (movie adaptations rarely are), but Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain) is giving me hope.

The trailer for the film version of Life of Pi was released today, and it’s a visual masterpiece. Though the trailer doesn’t give too much away about the story is about, the stunning eye candy is enough to pull me in.

Based on the best-selling and critically-acclaimed Yann Martel novel, Life of Pi tells the story of Pi (portrayed by Suraj Sharma), a young boy who is lost at sea after a shipwreck – and his only companion is a Bengal tiger.  Of course, if you’ve read the book, you know it’s also a tale of adventure, discovery and wonder.

The film is set for release November 21, 2012.
