At the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, girls rule, with Katy Perry breaking away with an impressive nine nominations, including “Video of the Year,” and “Best Female Video.

Katy Perry Leads MTV Music Video Awards with Nine Nominations

Perry received 9 nominations

 

Close behind is Adele and Kanye West, both earning seven nods, Bruno Mars with four, and Beyonce, Eminem, Lady Gaga, 30 Seconds to Mars and Nicki Minaj, all with three  nominations apiece.

 

The 28th Annual MTV Music Video Awards will be announced at the Nokia Theater in LA on August 28th.
