Tiger Woods Loses Gatorade Contract.
Gatorade announced today that they were ending their sponsorship deal with Tiger Woods. “I can confirm that we no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship,” a Gatorade spokeswoman told the Associated Press Friday. “We wish Tiger all the best.
Tiger Woods suffered an immense blow to his reputation on November 27th, when a public fight with his wife lead to the discovery of his multiple mistresses. His tarnished public image is now costing him lucrative sponsorship deals. His contracts with both AT&T and Accenture were both cancelled soon after the scandal broke. The shocking part about Gatorade’s announcement is that it came only a week after Tiger made a public apology in an effort to gather sympathy for his actions.
If Tiger doesn’t come up with a plan quick, he could lose his other deals with companies including EA Sports, Nike, NetJets, Upper Deck, TLC Vision,Tag Heuer and Procter & Gamble’s Gillette.
